Recently I realised that I've never eaten sushi, as far as I can remember. Perhaps I shouuld rectify this? Salmon marinated in vodka was a recipe I experimented with, a long long time ago, but that's really the extent of my knowledge of raw fish. Though ISTR learning that what I thought of as sushi is actually sashimi.

Date: 2010-03-25 02:19 am (UTC)I keep thinking I should do a ginger challenge at home some convenient time, and if that goes well, tackle sushi. But finding sometime "convenient" appears to be elusive - I just had to bin a tiny bit of fresh ginger which I bought a while back in prep for the food challenge that hasn't happened yet. I should have peeled and frozen it...
Anyway, all of that is to say that I'm not (yet) keen on sushi. I can totally understand how something would taste fishy or seafood-y even if there's no fish in it.
