Just been dosing myself with chicken noodle soup. I've had a sore, ticklish throat for the last couple of days, but I woke up this morning and it has developed into a cough :( Just what I need for going back to work on Monday. In fact, I kind of wonder if it was a kind of of low grade worry about returning to work and being apart from R that made me more susceptible to whatever this is.
On a more cheerful note, it is again a gorgeous day. We emptied the fish pond the other day, cleaned it and installed the new filter, so that was a successful days work. Got rid of all the rubbish that has been lying around, as well as the old pots and propagator lids etc hidden under the plant staging. My columbines are flowering, but not terribly well. The flowers look very straggly, both the dark purple variety and the pink ones. The Dysandra is also failing to thrive, I think it needs fertilized, all the leaves are turning yellow. We grew the tomatoes around it last year and I suspect the soil is now fairly poor. The lilac bush is wonderful though, and the campanula is just starting to flower. My thyme plant, the one I kept in a pot for culinary use, has flowered, so I think I'll leave it for decorative purposes now. I'm already growing a new set of basil plants on the kitxhen windowsill, I might start a new thyme or two as it's my favourite herb.
I need to plan out some shopping later. Tomorrow I want to make something for Monday's dinner as I'll be workign 9-7. I have great intentions to actually start bringing my lunch to work, so I need some stuff for that. An hour for lunch is plenty, but I want to bring stuff I can eat while I'm pumping. I might try and find some nice pasta/rice salad recipes as sandwiches every day is just far too reminiscent of schooldays for my liking!
