We would like to know who really believes in gay rights on livejournal. There is no bribe of a miracle or anything like that. If you truly believe in gay rights, then repost this and title the post as "Gay Rights". If you don't believe in gay rights, then just ignore this. Thanks

As allyphoe said and sidheag quoted, I believe in human rights rather than gay rights per se.

Now, that's not fair. I believe in human rights, and the rights of gay people to have them. I was one of the founding participating members of PhillyPaws (which provided pet care services for people with AIDS-related illnesses) and my work through that group got me a couple of awards. I nursed a gay friend through his illness until his parents took him back to Nebraska. I am more than happy to participate in local pro-human-rights-for-gays actions. I've been to Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender/Straight alliance meetings, even. I mention all of this only by way of providing background.

I don't feel like putting that in my journal. My journal isn't for that. It's for what I happen to feel like posting - and I just, for whatever reason, don't feel like posting that today. Yet now I feel like failing to post it makes me look like a homophobe. Which isn't true. So I'm just venting now. Which is dumb because I could have just posted it but - I didn't like the feeling of coercion. Nothing personal. I'm just saying...it isn't happening and that's it.

Hmm.
I guess my crabby phase isn't over yet.

Hillary, I'm totally with you. I absolutely support gay rights, but being "forced" to put this in my journal makes me feel....ugh.
