Oct. 7th, 2004 09:57 pmTraffic is just doing my head in at the moment. I'm a stickler for punctuality, I hate being late for anything, and these last couple of weeks I've been late for work a couple of days a week. Monday morning, admittedly never a very good morning for traffic, it took me 2 minutes short of an hour and a half to go the 12 miles to work. I was fit to be taken away when I got there!
The real killer is that I'm leaving the house a bit earlier every day - in fact Monday i left much earlier because of the previous problems, and it made no didderence. Tuesday I left the house late, but made it to work without many delays. Sods law, anyone?
Today the traffic was fairly congested, but I was not too late - except I was going to a new library, and I got lost. So I was late for my bloody first aid course. And to add insult to injury, there were roadworks coming home this evening at 7pm, so the poor car and I sat in yet another queue of traffic, along with some of the most appalling, rude and aggressive drivers I've ever seen.
Tomorrow I am going to my library at Blaydon as usual, but then I have to go to the Civic centre for a meeting at 10.30 - through more roadworks.
Just had a very nice dinner, though, pork mince with mushrooms, yellow pepper and red onion on salad with pitta bread. Mmmm, scrumptious. And now I'm going to have a glass of Riesling, and try to finish my book after my bath.
